FAQ
All Your Questions Answered…
When should I start my Hypnobirthing® classes?
Somewhere between 25-30 weeks is ideal, as the success of the course is strongly linked to how much practice you do. However, provided you can finish the course before you give birth, it's all still going to help.
WARNING! Many of my classes are booked well in advance so book in early to avoid disappointment.
How many classes do I need to attend?
The recommended length for classes is over 5 sessions.
The HypnoBirthing® course is designed to be run as weekly classes to give you the chance to go away and practise the techniques, and then come back and get assistance and guidance from your practitioner at the next class.
Is it best for my partner / husband to attend Hypnobirthing® with me?
Yes, I encourage you to bring your partner / husband as they are have an important part to play in the process. However if for some reason they cannot attend then you would do well to bring along your mum, sister, cousin or a friend to be your birthing companion. Ideally whoever comes with you would be your birth companion at the birth.
Are Hypnobirthing® classes done for individual couples or for groups?
The answer if for both- The course is designed for groups but I take individual couples if that is what you want however mostly it is in relatively small groups.
What should I bring?
Besides yourself and your birthing companion(s) bring your HypnoBirthing® book, a pen and a notebook or paper to take notes in. Your comfort is important to me so dress comfortably as this will help you to be comfortable and relax more. Layers of clothes is always a good idea. You may bring along beanbags, extra cushions, pillows or a blanket if you want to. A water bottle is also a good idea. We will take a short break and tea/coffee, during the session where light snacks will be provided. Please feel free to bring along any other snacks, or drinks you may require.
How do you know if someone is trained to take Hypnobirthing® classes?
Some therapists are advertising "hypnobirthing", "hypno-birthing", "hypnobirth", "Hypno Birthing", or just "hypnosis for childbirth".
Only practitioners certified by The HypnoBirthing Institute can provide the detailed, time-proven instruction that has helped thousands of women around the world have a calmer, easier, more comfortable birth.
If you are seeking HypnoBirthing® classes for labour and birthing, be sure that the person you have contacted has been trained and certified by the HypnoBirthing® Institute.
Ask to see his or her certificate to be sure that you are getting authentic instruction in HypnoBirthing® rather than an imitation. If you have questions or doubts, please email the HypnoBirthing Institute for verification of the practitioner's affiliation.
